Today was special!
Janet Quimby drove the Metro van, loaded to the gills with household items for Afghan refugees. Julia and Marian met refugee staff at the office in Auburn to unload one kit and supplemental supplies. Then we headed to Sea-Tac to the new home of Nafisa Barez Saad, an Afghan widow who moved in Tuesday with her three teen children. They helped us unload and offered us tea, which we politely turned down so we could head back to Vashon. (We had previously decided that due to Covid we wouldn’t partake of any extra time in a home.)
This photo shows Nafisa with her daughter, plus Marian with a Welcome sign. The household items are displayed.
Thanks to all for making this a reality!!
In gratitude,
